About Us

Since its foundation in 2002, the Northern Ireland Centre for Trauma and Transformation [NICTT] provided a specialist trauma treatment, research and training service for those affected by the conflict in Northern Ireland, known as the Troubles.

Our trauma focussed conflict behavioural therapy programme was based on the methodology originally pioneered in Oxford University, England by Professors Anke Ehlers and David Clark.  The approach was adopted in 1998 by the specialist statutory trauma team set up after the Omagh bombing (1998-2001) and subsequently through the work of the NICTT (from 2002 to 2011).
